By 2030 to be creating healthy places where our customers, employees, communities and natural habitats can thrive.


By 2030 we will have closed the waste loop using circular economy principles.

The story of value creation is told in our Integrated report. We measure that value through our Total Contribution, which is evolving into a real measure of positive impact and being developed as a tool to inform and influencer our decision-making.

Key achievements

  • 100 per cent of operational waste diverted from landfill (201/617).
  • Another 7 per cent improvement in carbon emission intensity (kg CO2e/m2 weighted and indexed to 2012/13 baseline) (2016/17).
  • 22 per cent improvement against our H&S incident severity score target of 10 percent
  • 94 per cent of SSSIs in favourable or recovering condition.
  • 128 per cent increase in the number of hours spent on volunteering
  • 84% of employees rate The Crown Estate as a 'Great place to work'
  • Building on our commitment to pay everyone working for us the London Living Wage, in central London our first-tier suppliers/contractors and agents have committed to pay London Living Wage in both development and asset management. 
  • Wild West End green space has increased to over 2,800m2 from a baseline of 50m2 in 2012.
